A stroll across the yard..........

Look what came visiting the other day! I was just gazing out the kitchen window while eating my Cornflakes when this guy just strolled across the yard and into the flower bed. He or she is a Lace Monitor and over a metre in length from nose to tip of tail so pretty big!
Hubby went after him/her with camera in hand across the garden and managed to get a picture of him/her up the tree.
We know they are around but this is the first time we actually got to see one out in the open!

Fletcher here........

ADOPTED
Fletcher decided to put in an appearance before the BIG day and join in the silly season fun!
You can find Fletcher on my website http://www.brimbinforestbears.com/acatalog/index.html or here http://www.bearpile.com/item/92883 and also on http://artistbearsinternational.com/en/home/934-fletcher.html

Not a lot of that happening at the moment as we are suffering a bit of a heatwave with temps bouncing around the 38 - 41 degrees!! They reckon it is a little unusual for this time of the year. The grass is dying and the trees and plants are drooping! Water restrictions and a total fire ban. Air con and fans doing overtime and not at all comfortable working on the bears but I battle on!!
Wishing you all a good weekend where ever you are..........

ESTHER and a touch of Japanese garden........

ADOPTED

New girl on the block today is Esther who posed very nicely for the camera! Sitting pretty and waiting for a new home:o)
Hubby has been playing with pebbles and pavers and succulents and ended up with a sort of Japanese garden going on and very nice it is too! Well the birds and parrots are loving the water baths and this morning I watched a big fat Magpie having a real splash around - just about emptied it of water and had a bit of trouble taking off!!
